REPORT ON MENTOR MENTEE SYSTEM

Mentor mentee system was started in our college in the academic year 2022-23. This system was formed as part of IQAC, NAAC, Criteria 2. The system was started with the vision to extend support and guidance to the students studying in this college.

This system is also aimed to narrow down the gap between the Mentee and Mentor. The students may come up with problems during the course of their academic year. To cope up with such problems a mentor mentee system was initiated in our college.

As part of the system, we have divided the students into groups and allotted one mentor to each group. The teacher student ratio is 1:30.

Mentor mentee meeting is conducted once in 3 months. Students facing difficulties in their academic career is given personal attention. They are being provided counselling personally and by paying personal visit to their houses. They are also being supported in terms of fees, content of course, scholarship etc.

Students with below average performance were also identified and the mentor shall find out the cause of the problem or the different behavioral attitude of the student.

The mentor shall also identify the students performing exceptionally well in the curricular and co-curricular activities and report to the head of the institution for providing further motivation.

This year the mentor mentee system of our college performed exceptionally well and we were able to identify the students with low performance and the causes for their problems.
